What is Radiesse?
There are several injectable dermal fillers on the market for you to use for facial rejuvenation. The RADIESSE injectable wrinkle treatment, offered by Winchester, VA plastic surgeon Dr. Matthew Karen, is great for mild to moderate lines and wrinkles on the face and for reversing age-related volume loss in the hands. Patients who might not have time for repeat visits love the lasting results (over a year in many cases) of RADIESSE. Using calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres in a water-based gel, RADIESSE fills and smoothes the appearance of your skin as a minimally invasive treatment. RADIESSE may be used with other injectable treatments (wrinkle fillers and relaxers) for a custom procedure plan that restores your skin. Look several years younger and boost your confidence with RADIESSE dermal fillers at Exclusively Faces Cosmetic Surgery and Medispa in Winchester, VA.

What Can I Expect from My Radiesse Treatment?
RADIESSE dermal injections are performed in a treatment room at Exclusively Faces Cosmetic Surgery and Medispa in about 30 – 60 minutes. First, you will lie in a relaxed position while the injection sites will be cleaned and marked. Many of our Shenandoah Valley patients feel only mild discomfort during their procedure at the initial prick, but a local anesthetic can be used if desired. The dosage of RADIESSE, determined at your consultation, will be placed in an ultra-fine syringe. The marked injection sites will help guide the injector to carefully administer RADIESSE into the needed areas. Once the procedure is done, a cold compress will be applied to help minimize bruising and swelling. Following your RADIESSE injection, you may have mild redness, bruising, and swelling. This is normal and should last no longer than 5 – 10 days. If the side effects last longer or seem excessive, please contact Dr. Karen. Many patients see some results right away with better results appearing over time. Your face should appear younger, softer, and have a natural glow. RADIESSE typically lasts around 1 – 2 years — much longer than other fillers.
