What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are individualized exfoliating solutions (such as salicylic, glycolic, trichloroacetic, and lactic acids) to help men and women reveal healthier, more radiant skin on the face, neck, and décollatage. At Exclusively Faces Cosmetic Surgery and Medispa, we offer chemical peel treatments that help resolve skin flaws, like wrinkles, fine lines, scars, rough patches, hyperpigmentation issues, and more. Chemical peels remove damaged, dead skin cells by using a personalized peel on your skin that causes the surface layer to peel off. As your skin heals and starts to repair and rejuvenate, you should notice a clearer, smoother complexion. Chemical peels are a noninvasive method to make your complexion bright.

What Can I Expect From a Chemical Peel?
At your consultation, we will assess your individual concerns and needs before creating a custom chemical peel treatment plan. You will receive one of these chemical peels:
Light peels:Â This type of peel will remove the top skin layer (the epidermis), giving your face a more radiant appearance and softer texture.
Medium-depth peels:Â This type of peel penetrates further into the skin for patients who have deeper damage to their skin, like deeper wrinkles and darker pigmentation problems.
Deep peels:Â This chemical peel is an aggressive treatment that is typically used for those that have age or dark spots, sun-damaged skin, significant acne scars, or deep scars.
We will clean your skin, then spread the solution onto your treatment area. Next, we will wash the peel off your face and put on a neutralizing agent. You can expect your skin to itch and peel from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on your treatment plan, and you will need to avoid the sun. We will give you instructions on how to treat your skin after your procedure. Please remember that no matter how much your skin itches, it's not good to scratch or pull the skin off as it may cause scarring.
Chemical Peel FAQ
How much does a chemical peel cost?
Dr. Karen will talk about your costs in your consultation as soon as he has made your custom treatment plan. The cost of a chemical peel will vary depending on the intensity you get. Exclusively Faces takes many payment methods, and we often run specials on treatments like chemical peels. You may also consider buying a package of several chemical peel treatments.
Will my face hurt after a chemical peel?
Based on the peel used, you may have some discomfort when it is on your skin. If you have a lighter peel, you will probably notice a little stinging, but it goes away quickly with the use of a handheld fan. Medium and deep peels are better for deeper problems and offer results that last a long time; however, they usually cause greater discomfort. Topical anesthetics, skin medications, and soothing ointments may be used to minimize your discomfort during your treatment. Dr. Karen or a member of his team will explain skin care after your chemical peel to maintain your results.
Can I combine a chemical peel with other treatments?
You may consider combining a chemical peel with another skin treatment at Exclusively Faces. In your initial consultation, be honest with Dr. Karen when describing your skin wants so He can develop a unique treatment plan that delivers your best results. Your plan might include injectable wrinkle treatments (like BOTOX® or JUVÉDERM®) along with your chemical peel to refresh your whole face.
